In the brief moment before boarding, I chose Allpress Espresso at Auckland Airport, adding a bit of leisure and aroma to the end of this journey. Although the airport branch is not large, it is clean and bright, filled with the smell of freshly baked bread and freshly ground coffee.
The black coffee is initially slightly acidic, followed by the roasted nut and caramel aromas, with distinct layers that are not bitter. The clean aftertaste makes one unconsciously reach for another sip. The accompanying double egg croissant is an unexpected highlight—crispy on the outside, with well-defined layers, and filled with two tender soft-boiled eggs, exuding a buttery fragrance in the warm air, and a soft, comforting texture.
Sitting by the window, watching the boarding information flash, I feel a quiet satisfaction inside. Allpress Espresso does not have extravagant plating nor is it a purposely created "Instagrammable" café; it is a place where one can truly settle down. For travelers about to take off, this black coffee and croissant breakfast is not just a meal; it is the best ending to a journey.
