🍲 Kaohsiung Qianjin ▫️ Surroundings of Liuhe Night Market
🍲 Carrying on 30 years of delicious stone hot pot from the previous generation
What should the drinkers eat for a gathering❓
Of course, hot pot is the first choice ❤️
It's rare for Kaohsiung to feel the autumn chill in the evening recently 🍂
Eating hot pot is just right to warm both body and heart
Originally, it was a choice between this place and another Cantonese satay pot
But unfortunately, the other place was closed that day
So this place wins by default 💪🏻
I prefer sharing a big pot over individual pots
However, this restaurant has both options
The seats for individual pots are more numerous, forming a U-shaped bar
The shared pot only has 3-4 tables for four
Since it was a weekday dinner time
We were very lucky to find a seat without a reservation ✌🏻
The benefit of eating stone hot pot is that the broth is usually fixed
It consists of onions + meat sautéed in the stone pot 🧅
Thus, we only need to choose the meat 🉑
This time, we were a group of four and ordered three pots (minimum consumption for a big table)
Two mixed seafood and meat pots, and one pork pot
Plus some fish dumplings, tofu, and squid paste
To enrich the pot even more (drinkers should eat less hot pot ingredients)
For side dishes, you can choose white rice, vermicelli, or ramen
The ramen has a recommended symbol 👍🏻
So my friend and I both decided to give it a try
What was served was Japanese ramen 🍜, which feels quite rare in a hot pot restaurant
Another unusual item was the vegetable platter that included
Purple sweet potato 🍠 and goji leaves 🍃
Which felt quite novel and special
At first, the broth was very fragrant but slightly light
After adding the contents of the vegetable platter, it became very mildly sweet
One bowl after another, I couldn’t stop
Both seafood and meat were very fresh 🦐🦑
Whether eaten alone or paired with satay, each had its own flavor
Every table also received free eggs 🥚
Which could be added to the sauce or cooked in the pot
After everyone made a big effort to eat
We still had too much to finish and packed the leftovers
But when reheated the next day, the purple sweet potato
Made the whole pot look very Halloween-like 🧙🏻♀️
I advise everyone to not try this next time
As it might lead to not wanting to return for a while 🥹
Besides that,
Everyone enjoyed this meal very much
Next time, I will definitely take my family to try it out as well✨
