❤️ Three major mooncake brands in Hong Kong: this time I chose Kee Wah Bakery as a gift, but I actually found out later that they’re sold in Taiwan (and cheaper...). Each article includes actual dining photos, even if it’s just a picture of a drink, to prevent some users from pretending to have dined by not including food photos. Overall rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
📍 This place is right inside the bustling Langham Place, with tons of shops~~~
🚗 Located at the exit C3/E1 of Mong Kok Station, it takes about 1 minute to walk to. It's on the B2 floor.
💬 There are three major bakeries in Hong Kong: The Peninsula Hotel, Maxim's, and Kee Wah, all of which are among the most famous (and wealthy) bakeries. Definitely not the place for buying something from Mei Cheng Mooncake Shop (laughs).
The store offers a wide variety of items; they sell not only mooncakes but also nougat, egg rolls, butterfly pastries, and pineapple cakes. However, considering the shelf life, I chose the animal cookies series which are best to take home. The cute designs are simply irresistible. The penguin-shaped ones have a more chocolate flavor, while the panda-shaped ones have a balanced flavor of creamy vanilla and chocolate. Each box contains 18 pieces, and the shelf life is about 4 months.
The staff here are much friendlier compared to those in tea restaurants or convenience stores; they even briefly introduced the different types of pastries. The shop also has various collaborative designs, which truly makes you walk out with a lot of goodies.
I also took a box of butterfly pastries, but didn’t get a picture since I gave it away... but I heard from a friend that they are also very delicious. Just that the price of these premium cookies is quite high, so it can only be occasionally treated as a reward for myself.
