Zhai Guo is a newly opened hot pot restaurant in Neili. Starting from 239 NTD, you can enjoy a delicious pepper chicken soup base. The staple foods, such as white rice and Prince noodles, are all you can eat. There’s a rich self-service bar for sauces, drinks, and ice cream, making it quite a good deal overall.
I really like their pepper chicken soup base and spicy soup base. The spicy soup is both numbing and spicy, which is really enjoyable for dipping meat and Prince noodles. However, a downside is that the refill soup is just regular broth, which can dilute the flavor. The pepper chicken soup base has a strong pepper flavor with a slight spiciness, making it suitable for those who enjoy bold flavors without too much heaviness. The refill soup is also the pepper chicken soup base, which is quite good without any extra charge.
The meat options are decent, with an additional 39 NTD you can get a 50% increase. The pork collar is quite tasty. However, dishes like the beef short ribs can cost over 600 NTD, so I wouldn’t recommend those as much. You can order some tofu products like sound bell rolls and frozen tofu, which soak up the soup and have a great texture.
Across the street is a park, and there’s also parking available. It’s a good idea to bring your kids on weekends for a walk and enjoy a hot pot!
