A western restaurant with a leaning towards pork, located in the 1 utama shopping complex. You can reach there via car or even mrt train.
We reach at a time for a early dinner so there wasn't too many ppl but already half the restaurant was filled. A very nice clean, sophisticated ambience, making it very nice for dates or a catch up session with old friends. The only thing abit sad was that the location in the mall spoils the ambience abit 😅 Would definately have more feelings in a upscale area.
Service was good and the food came at a acceptable pace. There is also a loyalty program with discounts to encourage you to come back.
The cream of mushroom was full of earthy flavours and delicious. Had a pint of carlsberg as its was right at the end of happy hour. If beer isnt your thing, there are alot of different wine to try.
You must order their signature pork dishes. The meat was well cooked and flavourful. The fatty parts especially so. Sauce was on point and completed with some grilled veggie that was just ok for me.
The spagetthi was good as well, though my wife said it was abit salty for her. No problems for me though.
Overall will definitely recommend this place and a must have is one of their signature pork dishes 😋
Known the restaurant back when it opened a couple of years ago. Used to be a nice chill place for drinking but once it became viral, its always super packed.
We walked in for an early dinner and since it was just the 2 of us, they were able to accommodate us. The other tables had reservations on them.
You order through the tablet, hence i am unable to upload the menu. It has a wide variety of food, from ramen to skewers; along with japanese beer and alcohol.
I had a bad experience with the server regarding the beer promotion (need to say the key phrase to get a discount). I ordered in the ipad and called the server over to get the offer. Unfortunately the server said i need to call him over and he will key in the system. This doesn't make sense for me as the drink is already listed as a option in the system, and you usually wont need to interact with the server 🤷♂️. I was quite unhappy with the response and cancelled the drinks order. And that interaction ruined my night.
Personally for me, i felt the quality of food went down after it became popular. And today was no different.
The Seafood tempura, garlic fried rice looked ok but didnt have any taste to them. The tanzen clams, my wife liked them but i didn't. One of my clams had some sand in them and overall didn't have much taste. The pork belly skewers and gyoza were ok, nothing special about them.
Price wise, things were quite expensive and not worth it in my opinion.
Personally, I wont come here unless its to drink japanese beer/alcohol or i am invited here for functions.
Do note that its still popular so maybe its just not right for me. Do give it a try and form your own opinion
A pet cafe that is mainly for dogs. Its located on the first floor. There is no lift available so wont be suitable for people who have trouble walking up stairs. Parking can be challanging to find, however you can park in the atria mall or the multistory paying carpark and walk up.
The environment was nice, though there was a bit of a dog smell when walking up the stairs. However, i couldn't really smell much while in the cafe. There were plenty of small dogs for you to play with. If you wish to feed them, you can buy some treats from the petshop there. There is no cover charge to enter, though you are expected to buy some food.
Service for the food was pretty slow. It may not matter if you want to play with the dogs before you eat, but not so good if you go there hungry. Wanted to order somethings from the snacks menu but it wasnt awailable 🤷♂️
The food on the other hand, was pretty dissapointing. The fish and chips that we ordered was abit undercooked the first time. Quite dissapointing, especially since the food takes some time to prepare. To their credit, they remade the dish but the flavours were average at best. The grilled chicken chop was average for me, though my wife found it abit salty. The ice americano was ordinary, abit light on the flavours for me. Price was on the high end.
Overall, i would rate the food aspects 1 🌟 and 4 🌟 for the pet environment. My son definitely enjoyed the dogs and was reluctant to leave. Perhaps consider desserts (hopefully its better than the mains) when visiting here. Would be back mainly for the dogs.
A cafe with lots of tasty looking cake.
Located in the Tropicana Gardens Mall so parking isnt too difficult. You could even take the train there.
The shop looked decent, with the best part being all the cakes and pastries on display. You order through a qr code provided and they will send the food to you.
Food came at a staggered pace, which was abit dissapointing.
Disclaimer that i didn't eat any of the carbs (keto diet).
The food was unfortunately dissapointing. The clams had a nice creamy sauce with the right amount of spiciness. The mantau according to my wife was good. I mean, its a classic food pairing. However, the clams weren't fresh and atleast 40% of the shells was empty.
The fried mushroom had too much batter (took out most of the batter) with not much taste. The sauce that came with it was nice though.
My wife enjoyed the milkshake so I guess its good.
With the quality of food being like this, i think they should be more of a cake shop. All the cakes and pastries look SOO Tempting!!! Escpiallly the chocolate cake 🤤 Unfortunately will have to wait for my diet to end before trying it.
Overall the main reason i am giving it 3 stars is because of the untasted sweets. Definately won't take their food.
A Japanese style restaurant with a bit of malay elements located in Denai Alam. Its one out of 2 japanese shops awailable so far (pending the lakeside mall opening).
Parking is readily awailable. Service is ok, not the best but they are still in the learning stage as the outlet recently opened 2-3 months ago.
Quite a wide variety of choices and a nice clean environment. Food is on the medium side price wise.
Quick disclaimer as i am on a keto diet i am unable to try most of the items.
The food is just alright. Not bad but not amazing. The chicken namban was ok, with nothing special. The chicken pieces were abit big for my liking with the bater ratio being off.
The green tea was diluted with lots of ice but since its refillable i dont mind. The octopus in the takoyaki was small as can be expected given the size.
However, i enjoyed the basil pesto pasta on an earlier visit so i do think there are somethings worth trying.
Overall, a worthy option when not in the mood to travel out for japanese food. Just don't get your hopes up expecting it to taste just like in japan.
