This time I want to introduce the very famous Shuangyue Food Company, which is also recommended in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. It has received recommendations for several consecutive years, so I believe its flavor must be quite good!

They have many branches in Taipei, and you can even order from them through delivery platforms now.

However, as a local guide of level eight, Dixon had never eaten at this Shuangyue place a year ago, and didn't even know its name. His friends teased him about it 🥺🥺🥺🥺.

Fortunately, he soon made up for it and learned just how famous and delicious it is!

Basically, during meal times, there are long queues outside all the branches, showing just how popular Shuangyue Food Company is, and the food is indeed quite tasty!

In some branches, you might even have to wait half an hour just to be seated during dinner time. Suddenly, I think it’s a good thing that we can use delivery platforms to enjoy their food! Reservations are generally not accepted.

So, often before opening, you can see many people already waiting outside. If you want to be among the first to be seated, you really might have to wait outside early!

Shuangyue Food Company mainly sells local Taiwanese snacks, including various marinated foods that you can have sliced fresh, and more famously, a variety of soups, including chicken soup and skinless chili pepper soup, which are quite famous!

Another popular item is their oil rice—I've passed by before only to find it sold out! Many of their dry noodles are also quite popular, such as Zhajiangmian, which are items that people frequently order!

However, as the restaurant follows a more traditional approach, the dining space is really small, with a corridor that only allows one person to pass through.

Seating is quite crowded, making it feel like there's just enough space to put your hands on the table to eat 🤣🤣🤣.

Therefore, while the food is delicious, the dining experience is not particularly pleasant. I suddenly feel that take-out or delivery might provide a better experience 🤣🤣.

But regardless, the food here is really great, and I highly recommend everyone to rush in and order some oil rice, noodles, and a bowl of chicken soup if there’s a spot available!

⭐️ Food section
👉 Shuangyue Oil Rice $45
As I mentioned, the oil rice is truly their signature dish. Although it looks plain on the outside, it is incredibly flavorful and aromatic when you eat it! The ingredients inside are also quite generous.

I personally recommend getting a small bowl when you come here!

👉 Spicy Pepper Noodle $90
This noodle dish has a very cute name and is quite popular. You can even find it on delivery platforms!

Essentially, it's a peppery noodle, but it isn't too spicy—just the right amount of flavor, overall very tasty! I personally enjoy peppery noodles, so I highly recommend this dish!

Also, since the portion isn't too large, you don't have to worry about getting too full~~

👉 Skinless Chili Pepper Chicken Soup $220
I personally really enjoy chicken soup, and especially love skinless chili pepper chicken soup!

So whenever I see skinless chili pepper chicken soup, I have to order it. The spiciness here is not too intense, just a slight numbing and spiciness. The chicken in the soup is also quite generous!

But in terms of flavor, I think it's just passable. There are many types of chicken soup here, so it depends on what you want to drink when you visit!

👉 Marinated Foods
You can also get some marinated foods freshly sliced on-site to enjoy. The sauce for the marinated items isn't bad, but they are pretty standard—just regular marinated items.

👉 Shuangyue Fresh Oysters $150
The portion of oysters given here is really quite generous! So the cost-performance ratio is quite high. If you love fresh oysters, you can order one or two plates with no problem!

And they are really fresh ~~~

Regarding the food, I find most of it quite delicious. Even though they are traditional Taiwanese snacks like noodles and rice, the flavors and textures are really top-notch!

Moreover, the prices are also quite reasonable. Aside from the crowded space inside, the food is truly impeccable ~~~

⭐️ Drinks section
The restaurant provides plain water, and you can order other drinks here. Since I didn't order other items that day, I won't make much comment on the drinks.

⭐️ Atmosphere
Since the restaurant's space is quite small, and possibly to attract more customers, the seating and tables are arranged very closely together.

Basically, the passageway only allows one person to pass, and each person's seat is quite small, plus you might end up sitting shoulder to shoulder with many strangers when eating ~~

If you stretch your legs out, you might kick someone across the table! But this really embodies the feeling of Taiwanese street food 🤣🤣. Therefore, overall, this restaurant doesn’t really have a special dining atmosphere 🤣🤣.

I personally think take-out or delivery is also a good option!

⭐️ Service section
This restaurant doesn’t provide any special service. Although there are many staff members, they are busy taking orders, delivering food, and cleaning tables because there are just too many customers. I think even with so many staff, they are quite overwhelmed ~~~

⭐️ Price section
I can only say that being able to enjoy such delicious snacks in Taipei at such affordable prices really has a high cost-performance ratio!

However, unfortunately, you need to wait in line for a long time to eat. If only there were a snack stall like the one at the end of my alley where you could just go and buy anytime, that would be perfect!

⭐️ In conclusion
I think it’s for a good reason that Shuangyue Food Company has been awarded Michelin recommendations for so many years. It truly embodies the authentic local Taiwanese snack experience.

Whether it’s their signature oil rice or noodles, or their chicken soup, I think everything is fantastic.

If you feel it's not enough, you can also order some freshly sliced marinated foods to eat ~~~ That wraps up a satisfying meal!

If you haven't been yet, I think you definitely need to experience Shuangyue Food Company, a local Taiwanese favorite ~~~ One visit and you absolutely won't regret it!

If you really want to enjoy it in-store, I recommend getting there early to wait in line before the restaurant opens.

Otherwise, during meal times, it really gets crowded ~~~ If you want to eat later, you can also rely on delivery platforms or take it to go, which I think is convenient.

After all, the dine-in environment isn't that great 🤣🤣.

Although this restaurant isn’t ideal for a romantic atmosphere, it’s perfect for take-out to enjoy at home.

And its cost-performance ratio is very high ~
