這裡的食物口味清淡,適合喜歡樸實風味的人。特別推薦乾麵和肉包,乾麵需自加醬料提升風味,肉包則有老麵發酵的嚼勁,搭配辣椒醬油更佳。
First of all, the overall food here is not too heavy in flavor. For the noodles, some people might find them a bit bland, but since there are self-service sauces provided by the shop nearby, you can add according to your personal taste!
If it's your first time here, most people usually order the fried tofu with vermicelli, because it's super light! It really lets you taste the pure flavor of the beans, so I would still recommend giving it a try. However, I ended up ordering the following two items more often.
👍 Dry noodles: I think this is a must-try. The flavor is very simple, and the base is a sauce made by the shop that has a taste similar to sweet soy sauce. If you’re from Taichung, you definitely need to add some of the Dongquan sauce on the side and mix it in before eating! This way, the saltiness and aroma are both very fulfilling~
👍 Meat bun: The buns here are quite small, about the size of a woman's palm. The advantage is that you can tell the dough is made with aged starter, giving it a great chewiness. The filling has a strong onion fragrance, making it flavorful on its own. However, I personally like to dip it in their chili soy sauce. Although it raises the saltiness a bit, the slight spiciness really helps to cut through the richness.
⚠️ In conclusion, it's a very simple and traditional old shop!
So it's not mind-blowingly delicious, but it's the kind of flavor you can eat regularly. For friends coming from out of town, it might be worth considering for a visit.
