Hello everyone, I am Little Frog 🐸
<The Fishery>, the third generation of a fishing ground, is a ramen shop that originated in Hualien and is really popular. Currently, there are four branches across Taiwan. This time, I visited the main store in Hualien. After failing to get a seat with friends twice before, I decided to arrive early this time to queue and register for a meal.

At the entrance, there is a large banner with the character "fish," highlighting that this is a seafood-focused ramen shop. The seating is divided into bar-style and regular tables, and there are actually quite a few seats…

⭐️ Signature Yuzu Pepper Ramen $290
This ramen features a collagen-rich fish broth. The thick, white broth is full of fish flavors and has a hint of yuzu pepper fragrance. You can also mix in the pickled vegetables on the side, adding a salty and fragrant flavor that is very special. The noodles are thin and absorb the fresh fish flavor from the broth, with a slightly chewy texture that isn't too soft or mushy. It is topped with charcoal-grilled fish slices, which are firm yet tender. There’s also some finely grated lemon peel, adding a refreshing touch—so delicious!

⭐️ Third Generation Char Siu Dipping Noodles (comes with fish broth) $320
This was ordered by a friend, and I had a couple of bites. The char siu is quite large, and the noodles are also thin. The dipping broth is a fish stock with a fragrant shallot oil aroma. The thin noodles quickly soak up the broth. For me, the flavor was a bit strong, but the accompanying fish broth tasted even sweeter and fresher than the ramen soup.

⭐️ Qixingtan Fried Fish $190
The outer layer is fried to a golden crisp, enclosing tender and juicy fish pieces that are boneless and have a hint of pepper flavor. It comes with a dipping sauce that is slightly sweet and sour, which pairs very well with the fish—extremely delicious!

⭐️ Hong Kong Shrimp Paste Fried Cuttlefish $170
The fried cuttlefish is wrapped in a thin batter and carries a unique shrimp paste flavor. The cuttlefish has a chewy texture and enhances the overall freshness. It comes with tartar sauce and lemon on the side, making it feel very refreshing. My friend really loved this dish, but I personally prefer the fried fish.

Fish nets are set up in the paths that fish will pass through, capturing the fish that swim by. The size of the net allows younger fish to slip through the holes, making it relatively friendly to the overall marine ecosystem.

No wonder this is a popular ramen shop that has people queuing up; I found it very tasty. Plus, you can get free refills of broth and noodles! I really enjoyed this fish-based ramen and will definitely visit again 🍜
