After feeling disappointed with the succulent grape drink from Heytea last time, I decided to give it another try and ordered the Coconut Mango.
The Coconut Mango surely can’t go wrong! What could possibly go wrong with the combination of coconut milk and mango? Indeed, nothing went wrong. The combination of mango puree and mango slush with coconut milk and sago is hard to mess up. Even with no sugar added, there is still sweetness from the coconut milk and mango, giving it a sweetness level of about 1 out of 10. Since slush drinks tend to have a higher water content, adding another 1-2 points of sweetness is also acceptable.
This drink feels more like a dessert than a beverage, and it’s quite similar to the Mango Cheesecake drink from Mago Tea, although the ingredients differ slightly.
The reason it makes me want to return is probably that, compared to Taiwan, the prices for similar drinks are a bit lower, but the taste is about the same.
This Heytea branch also provides seating for relaxation, but the staff is too busy, and the environment is not well-maintained; some parts of the floor are very dirty and sticky, which is quite off-putting. If you’re dining in, please consider this.
