Foodholic Niko @ Kyoto, Japan

"Cafe Origi" is located on a very quiet street in Kyoto, surrounded mostly by residential houses. The café itself resembles a typical home, and when you push open the door and see a small yard that looks like an ordinary residence, you can’t help but doubt for a moment. If it weren't for following the map, you might not easily notice that there's a café hidden inside.

"Cafe Origi" is run by an elderly couple. The lighting inside is rather dim, and in the chilly winter, there’s a heater in the seating area. The music played in the café is old Western songs, creating a great atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 4 PM, and there were only two groups of customers inside—one group was reading, and the other was chatting quietly. It was quite peaceful.

Hot Latte ¥720
The latte is rich and delicious; enjoying it with the music while taking in the old house is a great way to savor Kyoto.

Plain Soft Serve ¥350
I’m not particularly fond of ice cream, so I didn’t have high expectations, but their soft serve was truly impressive. The milky flavor is extremely rich, making it hard to resist having one bite after another—it's definitely a must-try!

Napoli Spaghetti ¥900
Perhaps my expectations were too high, so I found it to be rather ordinary. However, it’s not that it tasted bad; please don’t get me wrong, it’s good! The al dente of the spaghetti was spot on, and the blend of onion, sausage, bacon, and mushrooms was aromatic, although the sauce was a bit too salty.
