Title: A Student's Experience - What to Eat

When you come to China, there are often small shops selling various herbal teas along the roads. Since July is in summer, it's hard to bear the hot weather, so a cup of herbal tea is refreshing and helps to cool down.

Meal Details:
Sweet Eight Flavors, small bottle for 15 RMB, about 350ml.

Thoughts:
Each drink has a poetic name, and there’s a little trick to ordering. You can ask the owner about the symptoms you want to address. For example, if you want something refreshing to cool you down and reduce heat in your body, ask for recommendations. If you’re afraid of bitterness, you can ask whether it’s as bitter as bitter tea.

Since I mentioned that I wanted to reduce heat and alleviate liver heat, the owner recommended Sweet Eight Flavors. The tea has no added sugar, but the owner kindly offered a few dried fruits resembling Eight Immortals Fruit, saying if it feels too bitter, you can suck on them.

Sweet Eight Flavors isn’t as bitter as bitter tea, nor does it have the refreshing taste of herbal tea. It’s not hard to swallow but doesn’t leave a lasting impression. With every sip, I encouraged myself, “Yes, endure bitterness to enjoy health.”

Even so, I still want to challenge myself with other flavors next time!

Little Reminders:

1. Never drink overnight tea! I didn’t heed this advice, drank it the next day, and ended up with stomach issues due to it being too cold. If you have a fiery constitution and want to challenge yourself, assess carefully.
2. However, I noticed a relative reduction in heat in my body after drinking it.

Waiting Time:
2-5 minutes, the owner prepares it for you on the spot, and it’s still warm!
