Thank you Fooday🥳 for inspiring me to try more different foods 🍽
🚩Location🧭
Located at the intersection of Gongyi Road and Zhongmei Street in the West District of Taichung City, near Qimei Greenway.
🪑About the overall atmosphere🎡
Yu Mao Wu is probably a top-quality Japanese supermarket that only local Taichung residents know about. I think there used to be another branch that closed down; now only this Gongyi store remains, which carries the memories of Taichung residents from childhood (I hope it doesn't close down!). They sell many items that you can't find outside, mainly Japanese imported products, although they aren't cheap. There are also many ready-to-eat meals, sushi, bento, etc. The space is spacious, and there’s an in-house parking lot where spending can offset parking fees.
💰About prices and meals💰
Karaage Chicken Bento $188
The same main dish has multiple side dishes to choose from. I chose amaranth, cabbage, eggplant, and half a braised egg; each bento box specifies that it uses Japanese rice. The chicken skin is quite thick, and the meat is tender, but it's slightly over-battered. The vegetables are very mild, including the eggplant, which has little seasoning; I highly recommend this if you like light flavors. However, the downside is that you may need to reheat it at home, or eat it quickly after buying, because I didn't eat it right away and so the chicken ended up being cold, which was just a little disappointing.
🤨Conclusion♥
The other pork ribs and large chicken legs also look delicious, along with the nearby sushi and braised dishes; I just hope that Yu Mao Wu can continue to operate well so that I have the opportunity to revisit and try other flavors.
