The first meal back in Taiwan was chosen to be at "Shenyuanji Water" in Tainan High-Speed Rail Station. The name itself carries a poetic ambiance. The dining environment was surprisingly nice, with modern and minimalist decor and soft color schemes that create a relaxed feeling; overall, the quality is quite high.

In terms of dishes, "Shenyuanji Water" is not just a simple Taiwanese-style casual dining place. It offers main dishes like beef noodles, braised pork rice, and seafood mixed noodles, along with a variety of drinks, bread, cookies, and coffee, providing a rich selection, like a hybrid of Taiwanese bento and a light meal café.

This time I ordered braised pork rice and spicy seafood mixed noodles:
Braised pork rice: The braised pork sauce is salty and flavorful, perfectly paired with the white rice, and a little bit of chili oil provided by the shop enhances the taste even more. However, this bowl of rice costs 150 NTD, which seems a bit pricey, even for a high-speed rail station. Though it's tasty, at this price in Tainan City, there are richer options available.
Spicy seafood mixed noodles: The noodles used are slightly elastic and nutritious, with a great texture. The spicy sauce is well-seasoned, with a hint of spiciness and salty flavor, making it refreshing and not greasy. While the seafood is not abundant, the ingredients are fresh, and the overall flavor is satisfactory. However, the same price of 150 NTD makes one hesitate a bit.

Overall, "Shenyuanji Water" is a restaurant with "above-average performance and relatively high prices." If you are a budget-oriented traveler or seeking value for money, this price may not encourage a second visit.
